Salop Leisure has donated £500 to Bomere Heath Cricket Club to help boost their crowdfunding appeal to raise £12,500 to protect their ground from chronic flooding issues.
The club has struggled with a soggy pitch for several years which has a severe impact on their playing conditions. This year's pre-season preparations were particularly hindered by adverse weather, highlighting the urgent need for improved drainage and protective measures.
Salop Leisure marketing manager Ed Glover said: "We are delighted to be able to support a local sports club in need. We believe in giving back to our community and helping to sustain the activities that bring us together.
