A Shropshire HR company has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.
Telford-based HR Solutions Shropshire is a finalist in the British HR Awards for best consultancy with five or fewer employees.
The business, which was founded by Ishbel Lapper seven years ago, has enjoyed significant growth in the past 12 months and now boasts more than 100 retained and ad hoc clients.
Ishbel said she was thrilled to have been named a finalist in the awards, which this year attracted a record number of entries.
“To be recognised by such an illustrious panel of judges for the quality and the strength of the work we do in this way is absolutely fantastic. We had to demonstrate to the judges specific examples of where our work had made a real difference to our clients and the value we had delivered.
“That included detailing how we had helped one company achieve a 30 per cent increase in employee satisfaction with the launch of a new intranet platform, helped another achieve a 20 per cent increase in engagement scores thanks to a focus on leadership development and career growth and produced a 15 per cent increase in internal promotions at a third employer thanks to a focus on recruitment practices.
“We have enjoyed a really successful past 12 months and to be named a finalist in these awards is the icing on the cake.”
Winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony in London’s Covent Garden on April 2.
British HR Awards judge Nate Harwood said: “We were humbled by the record number and quality of entries this year. It was incredible to see such ingenuity in action, reflecting the outstanding skill, passion and hard work of teams and individuals up and down the UK.”
Ishbel has worked for some of the country’s best-known retail names with experience in the manufacturing, transport, automotive and social housing sectors. Her specialisms include all aspects of employment law and contracts as well as chairing investigations, disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, TUPE and performance meetings.
Earlier this year she was also appointed a chartered member of the CIPD, the professional body.
